T: Hi Bob, how are you?

B: Fine, Tom. What about you?

T: I am ok, thanks.

B: Have you heard about Rufus and Liza?

T: No, I haven’t. What happened?

B: Rufus tried carrying out his plan to kill Liza after being let out of jail.

T: Why?

B: It is alleged that when he was in prison, He made out two lists: one of his enemies and one of his friends. At first, Liza was in the latter. Particularly, he would have liked to sort their problem out. However, as she never turned out to the jail to look him up, Rufus started being suspicious.

Therefore, with the help of a fellow inmate who later broke out, he  found out that his wife was actually cheating on him with her dentist. At that very moment,  all his patience gave out and he rubbed out her name from the friend list. Instead, he put it at the top of the enemy list.

T: And then, what happened?

B: While Rufus was still in jail he thought out a plan to kill her without leaving any trace.  So he gave up the idea of setting off a bomb in his wife’s house. He decided to first approach her pretending that he didn’t know about her affair so as to get her trust.

T: How did she react when he was released?

B: She passed out when she received the news of his release. Nevertheless, when Liza met him the first time she was positively struck by him.

T: Why?

B: Rufus told her that he was now a new man and that he was planning to become a social worker. He even started handing out gifts to poor people. He also asked her to eat out in a new Italian restaurant which had just branched out in their neighbourhood. So Liza decided to give him a second chance, although her friends advised her to look out.

T: And then what happened?

B: After two months from his release, Rufus started carrying out his evil plan. One day, while she was out, Rufus laid out all his equipment in a secret spot of the garden:  a helmet cap, two guns,  a pair of gloves, and a big knife as well as a new copy of the keys of the house. In fact, he realized that she could lock him out. Then, after checking out if it was still sharp, He picked out the knife, and he waited hidden in the house until his wife’s return.

T: Did his plan work out?

B: No, it didn’t.

T: Why?

B: Luckily, when Liza came back home, she saw his body hidden behind a sofa, and she realized that he wanted to kill her because his knife was sticking out from his pocket. So, she cried out to get help from onlookers. It was pointed out that she was very lucky because the first passer-by was a policeman who knocked at the door almost immediately. As a result, Rufus threw out the chance to kill her and had to slip out from the back door.

T: Is Rufus being searched for by the police now?

B: Yes, he is now the first man suspected on the police list, and in the meantime, a judge has ruled out that he can approach his wife’s house anymore.

T: So is Liza happy because he has to keep away from her property?

B: I don’t think she will ever get over this bad experience.
