Interesting Facts About Czech Numbers[edit | edit source]

Did you know that in Czech, the number "4" is considered unlucky? This is because the word "čtyři" (four) sounds similar to the word "smrt" (death). That's why it's common to skip the fourth floor in some Czech buildings.

Another interesting fact is that Czechs actually use a system to count money that's different from the rest of the world. Instead of counting in hundreds or thousands, Czechs count in multiples of twenty. For example, "dvacet korun" means twenty crowns, "čtyřicet korun" means forty crowns, and so on.
