Cultural information[edit | edit source]

In Bengali culture, elderly people are commonly addressed by terms like dada, dida, nana, and nani. This custom is a way of showing respect to the elders. Furthermore, in traditional Bengali households, the youngest son usually lives with his parents and is responsible for looking after them in their old age. This practice is known as "meye pariye dhorbo" (āĻŽā§‡āĻ¯āĻŧā§‡ āĻĒāĻ°āĻŋāĻ¯āĻŧā§‡ āĻ§āĻ°āĻŦā§‹).
