Join us for an exciting day trip to the stunning Agua Caliente County Park on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 9:00 AM! Experience the rejuvenating spring-fed pools, enjoy a delightful picnic, and embark on the popular Moonlight Trail hike led by Wilfredo.

Please note, this is a "NO FLAKE" event. If you're interested in joining us, be sure to RSVP and read through all the details provided for a smooth experience.

Event itinerary:

1. Gather in front of Starbucks located on the EAST side of Grossmont Center at 5500 Grossmont Center Drive, La Mesa, CA 91942 at 9:00 AM. We will carpool from there, departing promptly by 9:15 AM, so please be punctual.
2. The journey to Agua Caliente County Park takes approximately two hours. Upon arrival, we will have the option to hike the Moonlight Trail, which takes about 1.5 hours. For those who prefer to relax, you can head straight to the pools and enjoy the serene atmosphere.
3. After our hike, we'll come together for a lovely picnic lunch.
4. Post-lunch, it's time to soak and swim in the inviting pools.
5. We plan to depart the park around 4:00 PM.

Details about the pools:

Agua Caliente County Park features three mineral water pools. Two of these are outdoors, while the indoor therapeutic spa is heated to a soothing 102 degrees and includes Jacuzzi jets for added relaxation.

About the Moonlight Trail hike:

This scenic hike spans under 2 miles round-trip and will take around 1.5 hours to complete. The trail is rated easy and follows well-marked sandy paths with an elevation gain/loss of 350 feet. For more information, check out this detailed article and watch this YouTube video showcasing the trail.

What to bring: Please bring a dish to share, a minimum of two liters of drinking water, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, sturdy hiking shoes, your swimsuit, a padlock for your locker, and cash for parking and pool access ($5.00 parking fee per vehicle; $5.00 for pool use; $0.50 for a shower; parking fee includes pool access for the driver).

We also kindly request that attendees bring drinks and picnic essentials like paper plates, utensils (including serving utensils), ice, and napkins.

Directions: Take I-8 East. After roughly 89 miles, exit at Ocotillo and turn north onto SR-2 (Imperial Hwy). Continue for 27 miles on SR-2 until you reach the entrance of Agua Caliente County Park.

There is a day-use parking area conveniently located across from the registration booth at the park entrance, with additional parking available near the pools.
