Welcome to the West End Intercambio English/Espanol event!

Hello everyone! Starting from Monday, May 8th, our Monday evenings will be held upstairs at Curlers, and Thursday evenings will take place at Tennent's!

Curlers is conveniently located next to Hillhead subway on Byres Rd. Upon entering, head upstairs and turn right. You'll usually find us at the table in the far left corner by the window. Alternatively, when entering Tennent's from Byres Rd, turn left and you'll spot us at one of the tables near the windows!

Frequently Asked Questions

What level of proficiency is required to join?
Our group is open to everyone, from beginners to native speakers. However, having even a basic conversational ability will enhance your experience!

If I can't make it exactly at 7:00 PM, is that a problem?
Our gatherings are very informal, and we usually stay for a few hours. Feel free to join whenever you can make it. If you arrive at 7:00 PM and don't see anyone, give it about 15-20 minutes for others to arrive!

There is only one person signed up, will the event still take place?
While the event page may show only 1 or 2 RSVPs, we usually have more regular attendees, with a typical group size of around 10-15.

If you want to practice and improve your Spanish or English, join us at The Tennent's Bar on Byres Road at 7:00 PM every Monday and Thursday. We have different hosts on different nights, and occasionally none, but there will always be friendly people to give you a warm welcome. You can find us at the top of the stairs, where we'll be sitting on the long benches. We're excited to meet you and have a chat in Spanish and English!

We start with a 'Spanish half hour' followed by an 'English half hour' to ensure each language receives equal time and perhaps some engaging topics to keep everyone conversing. We can't wait to see our regular members and extend a special welcome to newcomers.
