Hello everyone! Starting from Monday, May 8th, our Monday evening gatherings will take place upstairs at Curlers, and Thursday evenings will be held at Tennent's!

Curlers is conveniently located next to Hillhead subway on Byres Rd. Upon entering, head upstairs, turn right, and you'll usually find us at the table in the far left corner by the window. Alternatively, when entering Tennent's from Byres Rd, turn left, and we typically occupy one of the tables by the windows!

FAQs

What level of language proficiency is required to join?
The group welcomes and is attended by individuals of all levels, from beginners to native speakers. However, having at least some conversational ability would be beneficial to actively participate!

Is it a problem if I can't arrive exactly at 7:00 PM?
The group is very informal, and we usually stay for a few hours at least, so feel free to join whenever you can make it. If you arrive at 7:00 PM and no one is there yet, give it around 15-20 minutes for people to arrive!

There's only one person signed up, will the event still take place?
While the event page may only show 1 or 2 people who have RSVP'd, there are usually more regular attendees, and the usual group size is around 10-15 people.

If you want to practice and improve your Spanish or English, join us at The Tennent's Bar on Byres Road at 7:00 PM on Mondays and Thursdays. We have different hosts on different nights, and occasionally no host, but there will always be friendly people to give you a warm welcome. You can find us at the top of the stairs, where we'll be sitting on the long benches. We're excited to meet you and chat with you in Spanish and English.

We start with a 'Spanish half hour' followed by an 'English half hour' to ensure each language gets equal time and perhaps some interesting topics to keep everyone engaged. We look forward to seeing our regular members and extending a special welcome to new members.
