Hello everyone! Starting from Monday, May 8th, our Monday evenings will be held upstairs at Curlers, and Thursday evenings will be at Tennent's!

When you enter Tennent's from the Byres Rd entrance, you will usually find the two tables on the left reserved for us.

Frequently Asked Questions

What level of language proficiency is required to join?
The group is open to everyone, from beginners to native speakers. However, having even a little conversational ability can be helpful to participate.

If I can't arrive exactly at 7:00 PM, is it a problem?
The group is very informal, and we usually stay for a few hours at least. So, feel free to come whenever you can make it. If you arrive at 7:00 PM and nobody is there yet, give it around 15-20 minutes for people to arrive!

There is only one person signed up, will the event still take place?
While the event page may show only 1 or 2 people have RSVPed, there are usually more regular attendees. The usual group size is around 10-15 people.

If you want to practice and improve your Spanish or English, join us at The Tennent's Bar on Byres Road at 7:00 PM on Mondays and Thursdays. We have different hosts on different nights, and occasionally no host, but there will always be friendly people to give you a warm welcome. You can find us at the top of the stairs where we will be sitting on the long benches. We are looking forward to meeting you and chatting with you in Spanish and English.

We start with a 'Spanish half hour' followed by an 'English half hour' so that each language gets an equal amount of time and perhaps some fun topics to keep everyone engaged. We are excited to see our regular members and extend a special welcome to newcomers.
