Join us for an engaging discussion on the effectiveness of diversity and inclusion (DEI) programs, which are facing bans in various regions due to perceptions of being leftist or "woke." Are these initiatives truly capable of fostering change and enhancing productivity within workplaces and society at large?

*Participate in our enlightening debates to contribute to a better world while making genuine connections!*
- Please be on time. Our events kick off with casual interactions until all attendees arrive. The debate will begin around 7:30 PM and last for approximately 60-90 minutes, with additional mingling afterward.
- Enjoy a selection of beverages, including tea, milkshakes, and other drinks, as well as pizza, hotdogs, and snacks (including plant-based choices) at the bar.

TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION: Diversity and Inclusion Policies

DEBATE FORMAT
We will either have a turn-based debate (in the style of the Model United Nations) or a discussion in smaller groups, depending on the number of attendees. Typically, the format includes:
- Introductions and opening thoughts (~15 mins).
- Breakout sessions per question (~25 mins).
- Final sharing of opinions (~20 mins).

EVENT GUIDELINES (Rules & Expectations)
- Focus on debating the topic, not the individuals involved—no personal attacks allowed!
- No mobile phones, no interruptions, and no bystanders.
- Always adhere to the instructions and guidelines provided by the moderator/host.

WHAT IS WORLD CITIZENS?
We are one of the longest-standing and largest communities in London. Since 2012, we have organized social gatherings, cultural events, and stimulating discussions to encourage meaningful exchanges and learning among London's diverse professionals.

EVENT LOCATION DETAILS
What: Structured debate session followed by social networking
When: Tuesday, starting at 7:00 PM until late, with the debate commencing at 7:30 PM to allow for socializing
Where: Curzon Aldgate (bar area), 2 Canter Way, E1 8PS
Nearest Stations: Aldgate East, Aldgate, Tower Hill/Gateway
Cost: Attendees are responsible for their own meals and drinks
Hosts: Our events feature a rotating team of hosts, and the actual host may vary. Regular members are also available to assist with any questions.

NOTE: Like many of our guests, our volunteer hosts may arrive after the event's start time. If you arrive early or on time, we greatly appreciate it! Feel free to begin socializing and/or grab something to eat or drink—that's the essence of our gatherings. Regular members can help with any basic inquiries.
