Explore the hidden gems of the Costa Brava on a cultural hiking adventure: a leisurely walk along the coastal path, guided tours of La Selva de Mar, El Port de la Selva, and Portbou, with free time for lunch and beach enjoyment in El Port de la Selva.

1- Coastal Path from El Port de la Selva to the lighthouse (5km round trip)
El Port de la Selva is a charming and serene coastal village located between Llançà and Cadaqués, boasting one of the most pleasant bays on the Catalan coast. We will walk along the coastal path that connects the town center with the Far de s'Arenella (5km in total) and enjoy one of the most beautiful natural bays and harbors in Catalonia.
Distance: 5 Km
Elevation: completely flat path
Duration: 2 hours
Difficulty: Low

2- Discover La Selva de Mar, the rural paradise of Empordà
The towns located north of Cap de Creus have a special color and fascination. After a rugged landscape, a great tranquility is breathed. And the best example of this is La Selva de Mar, one of the best-kept secrets of the Costa Brava. Being just 2 km away from the sea has allowed it to stay sheltered from beach tourism, making it a charming place where summer days pass slowly and peacefully. Its cobblestone streets and small stone bridges that cross the stream invite visitors to stroll and discover all the secret corners of this small and charming corner of the deep Empordà.

Located in a small valley, at the foot of the Verdera mountain, in the Rodes mountain range, this small village is a perfect example of traditional Ampurdanese architecture, with many houses made of slate, an abundant material in the area.

3- Explore Portbou and visit the Memorial dedicated to Walter Benjamin, one of the most beautiful and delicate spots on the Costa Brava
We will have lunch in Portbou, a border town with a fascinating history, and visit the Memorial dedicated to the philosopher Walter Benjamin, located in one of the most beautiful corners of the Catalan coast.

Main highlights of the excursion:
1- Discover and enjoy one of the most rural and least crowded areas of the Costa Brava
2- Enjoy an easy walk along a beautiful coastal path
3- Discover and delve into the fascinating history of La Selva de Mar, El Port de la Selva, and Portbou
4- (Re)discover Catalonia in the company of friendly people
