DISCOVER THE BEAUTY OF TERRA ALTA: HIKING AND CULTURE EVENT TO BOT-PINELL DE BRAI VIA VERDE + FONTCALDA SPA

Embark on a spectacular 15km hiking route along the greenway (an old railway line) connecting Bot with El Pinell de Brai; explore the legendary Fontcalda spa, an outdoor paradise with a river and beautiful pools; and uncover the El Pinell de Brai Cooperative Winery, famously known as the Cathedral of Wine.

HIKE ALONG THE GREENWAY FROM BOT TO EL PINELL DE BRAI (15km)
A beautiful hike along the greenway connecting Bot to Pinell de Brai, with a stop at the legendary Fontcalda spa located in a stunning corner. Along the 15km route, we follow an old railway line and enjoy fabulous views of the natural landscape surrounding the path, featuring numerous tunnels and charming small bridges. This diverse hike takes you through areas of great beauty (including the legendary Fontcalda spa) and ends in El Pinell de Brai, renowned for its Cooperative Winery, an impressive modernist building designed by César Martinell and known as the Cathedral of Wine.

EXPLORE THE LEGENDARY FONTCALDA SPA, AN OUTDOOR PARADISE, AND THE OPTION TO BATHE IN THE RIVER AND POOLS
Located between the Mola and Crestall mountains, next to the Canaletes river, the Fontcalda spa and sanctuary is a delightful surprise for hikers. A beautiful natural spot with a spring of medicinal water flowing at 28 degrees just meters away from the ancient Trinitarian friars' sanctuary, documented since the 16th century. Visitors can soak their feet or swim in the river.

1- Enjoy a scenic, mostly flat 15km hike along an old railway line through a stunning natural environment
2- Visit the legendary Fontcalda spa, an outdoor natural paradise, with the option to swim in the river and its pools

THE ITINERARY
– 8:00 AM: Meet at Plaza Universitat to board our private coach (UB main entrance). Breakfast stop during the journey.
– 10:30 AM - 3:30 PM: Hike along the Greenway from Bot to El Pinell de Brai, with a rest stop at the legendary Fontcalda spa and the opportunity to swim in the river and pools.
– 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM: Visit the exterior of the Cathedral of Wine and free time
– 5:00 PM: Return by coach, arriving back in Barcelona around 7:30 PM

THINGS TO NOTE:
✔︎ The hike, easy and mostly flat, is long (15km), so a minimum level of fitness is required
✔︎ It is advisable to bring a headlamp or flashlight for the tunnels (some are quite long), as well as water, a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses
✔︎ At the Fontcalda spa, there is a bar-restaurant and the opportunity to swim or soak your feet in the river and pools (remember to bring a towel)
✔︎ FOOD: it is best to bring a sandwich/tupperware or purchase it at the bar/restaurant at the spa. There is also the option to dine independently in Pinell de Brai (expected arrival around 3 PM):
