DISCOVER THE TWO GREAT LAKES OF CAPCIR, THE LITTLE SIBERIA OF THE NORTHERN CATALAN PYRENEES: LAC DE MATELAME AND PUYVALADOR

Capcir, a region in the Northern Catalan Pyrenees, is known as little Siberia or little Canada for its extraordinary natural beauty, abundant forests, and lakes. It is a nearly untouched natural landscape dotted with picturesque villages.

To make the most of our day in Capcir, we will have the opportunity to:

1- Take a walk around Lake Matemale (2 hours), have lunch by its shore, swim at its beach, and relax in the lush forest on one of its banks.

In the morning, after having breakfast in LLívia, we will head to Lake Matemale. There, we will have the chance to walk around the lake (2 hours on a flat trail), have a picnic lunch, and relax by its shore (the lake has a beach area where swimming is allowed, a bar/restaurant, and a beautiful forest ideal for resting and enjoying a nap).

Lake Matemale, located at 1541 meters above sea level in the heart of the Capcir plateau, is an ideal place to spend the day. Equipped with various amenities and surrounded by a beautiful forest, the lake offers a wide range of activities and extensive views of the region.

2- Puyvalador and Real Lakes

To end the day, we will visit the small town of Real, where we will have the opportunity to admire Puyvalador Lake and enjoy the best panoramic view of the region.

THE PLAN

– 8:00 AM: Meet at Plaça Universitat (main entrance of the University of Barcelona) to board our private coach. We will make a stop for breakfast in LLívia (La Cerdanya).

– 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Arrival at Lake Matemale and walk around the lake (2 hours on a flat trail). If anyone doesn't want to walk, they can stay at the bar-restaurant located in the designated swimming area.

– 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Free time to have a picnic lunch by the lake (you can bring your own sandwich/tupperware from home or buy it during breakfast in Llívia), swim, and/or relax in a unique natural environment.

– 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM: We will go to the nearby Puyvalador Lake to enjoy the best panoramic view of the region from the charming village of Real.

– 5:30 PM: Return by coach, arriving in Barcelona around 8:00 PM.

LANGUAGES: Spanish and Catalan (if you need additional explanations in English, there is no problem).
