    The ”Şimdiki Zaman” is like ”Present Continuous Tense”.
    The ”Geniş Zaman” is like ”Simple Present Tense”.

    For example;

    A: alo, how are you, B? Shall we wander a little?

    B: Hi. Tomorrow I am going to enter to math exam. So I am now studying math. Sorry, For now I can not come. However, after my exams finished, I will be at home the weekeends, and when I am at home, generally I watch documentary on the weekeends.

    A: ok. You are not coming now. We will meet when your exams finished.
    But I will say our friends that ”he works lessons when his exams are, and so he do not go outside”.
