I would like to know the pronunciation of the letter ”g” in Swedish because I feel like it changes depending on what follows it or sth. The g in ”gör” isn’t pronounced the same as in ”god” right?

Hey,

I am not a native Swedish speaker, but as I understand it, 'g' is pronounced the same as in English, If the letter after the g is a soft vowel, 'ö', 'ä', 'e', 'i', 'y', it is pronounced like the 'y' in the words yolk or yellow.

'K' and 'Sk" also change before these soft vowels. The 'k' is pronounced like a 'sh' and the 'sk' sounds like the 'sj' of sju (the number 7).

Hope this helps!

I'm a native speaker. The g in "gör" is pronounced the same way as j in "jag".
