SuhaAlqarniAugust 2014 Hi , am Arabic ali i can help you
shirifaAugust 2014 standard Arabic is the most formùal one. it is the one that is used in news and many cartoons. it can be understood by any Arabic speaker. generally speaking, it's used for formal academic purposes not casual conversations |
Farsi_LearnerSeptember 2013 Standard Arabic is understood for sure, we study it in school since we were children, we communicate formally (by emails) using the standard language, but you have to know that we don't speak it.. every country has its own dialect, so if you go to any Arabic country and start to speak the standard Arabic, they will understand you but it would be to strange to hear someone who speak like the actors in the historical movies! A lot of dialects are understood even if the words are different, Egyptian dialect is widely understood, but not because of the population of Egyptian people, it's because of the media.. All Arabs are familiar with the Egyptian accent because it's very popular in TV. Other accents which are understandable are Syrian, Palestinian, Jordanian and Lebanese (and they have a lot of similarities as well). You have asked before about the Moroccan accent, well. I’m Arabic and when I talk to them I talk in English coz they can’t understand me and I can’t understand them! I won’t suggest it because it really differs from other accents. At the end, it’s about how you want to use the language, reading books and publishing your writings? (That would be standard), or speaking and listening to people in live conversations (in this way, you should pick an accent). Welcome to the world of Arabic language, and good luck. |
