This may seem like a strange question. Would "курит травка" or "курить травка" be correct? I am stenciling this on мой сноуборд.

to smoke = курить.
to be smoking = курить.
------
smokes = курит.
is smoking = курит.
------
травка is a noun, and nouns in russian have different endings (depending on the position they take in sentences and their relation to other parts of speech).
Compare to flexible pronouns in English:
I - me - myself; he - him; they - them, etc.
You say: He smokes him.
The pronoun denoting the agent of the action takes one form, one ending. And the pronoun denoting the object being effected takes another form, another ending.
Depending on the type of effection they get, nouns take differents endings. They are divided into 6 groups - so-called Grammatical Cases of Nouns.
(and pronouns, and adjectives, and some other parts of speech.)
Here, with the verb 'курит' the form 'травку' should be used.
If the writing on the snowboard should inform about the owner that he "smokes cannabis", then use "курит травку"

    So if it is only a basic statement, it would be "Курить травку". I'm only looking to convey an idea, not that I personally smoke, or he/she smokes, just making a general statement that promotes to others to engage in the act of.
