Translation of an English nautical sentence

Help! I am having a sundial made and would like it to bear the inscription "The Sun is over the yard-arm" but in Latin. I cannot find a translation for "yard-arm". The best I have come up with so far is "bracchium", which is pretty feeble.  All help appreciated. Thanks.
