Gemma, Hiragana is a japanese alphabet and has nothing to do with korean.
However, getting a dictionary is not  how I would recommend to start learning the language.
Better go in  the languages-learning  part of the closest supermarket or library  from you, and see what they got, read  the beginning of the books, see how they're made, see how you do like it and if you do understand the way they want to teach you.

If you like it,  go for it.
If not, read another one  ~

Hi Nesuke,

when you reading Korean, do you understand what they mean?

because i can read Hirakana, but it doesn't make sense to me as i don't know the meaning of words.

so, maybe it's best for you to get a Korean - your language dictionary and go from there! ^^
