kasherkoorDecember 2023 We don't really have assigned words for yes and no in Kashmiri, and they vary by region due to dialect. Generally in informal settings we use uhh a guttural sound for yes and na, with a short -ah sound, for no. Some also use awah for yes, and naw for no, this depends on dialect and there are also other variations. In formal settings, yes is ahnas and no is nahas. If you want to amplify politely, like if you are agreeing or persuading, you say ahnas uhh for yes and nahaz na for no.
