Can someone who speaks hebrew tell me if there's a difference between the words להסתכל and להביט ? I know they both mean to look at something but I don't understand whether there's a difference between them
! תודה רבה

sharon_weiJune 2018 It better to say להסתכל |
Simon_30May 2015 Hi Actually the meaning ot those to word is pretty equal, but if we want to be more precise the word "להסתכל" means just to look and the word "להביט" means to take a closer look, like the word "watch". i hope i've helped |
TopazsJune 2014 That's not an easy question even for a native Hebrew speaker. להסתכל means look but להביט means look with more observation. If you are looking at someone you would probably use - להסתכל. If you are looking from a window you would use - להביט. It's not a mistake to do otherwise, most of the time you can use both. Happy to help |
