"construction" is a noun, "la construction" = "the construction"

"construire" is a verb, if you read "la construire", "la" is for the object.

For example: - Qui va construire votre maison ? - C'est la société XYZ qui va la construire.

(Who will build your house ?) (It's XYZ Inc who is going to build it. [in this case: "la" is "it"])
