Migu96March 2013 say"te" when you dont know the person and "sinä" when you know, it's for polite reasons |
mpalinSeptember 2020 I agree with fineca and chocoraberii. In my opinion, the general culture in Finland allows for rather informal way of speaking.
chocoraberiiJune 2015 I would never use "te" with all the people I don't know, that would just be weird. Like fineca says, it's very rare nowadays. I sometimes automatically use "te" if I'm speaking to an old lady or man in a very formal situation (like work etc.), but even then it's not required.
finecaApril 2013 Well, "te" is very rare nowadays, you can practically say "sinä" to everyone.
