“Yes, I'm fat, but spare us the cruelty this summer”
I can understand this sentence want to express the bad feeling of fat person. But I cannot understand why in this sentence, writer uses “I”, then he/she uses “us”. What the word “us” means?

![]() | genzaimuJune 2014 Without knowing the context from the rest of the paragraph/essay, it is not possible for anyone to know who "us" is exactly. Perhaps "us" refers to all fat people. "Us" in this case would mean that this person has some relation among a group of people. |
