The terms ”topic,” ”subject,” ”theme,” and ”field” are often used interchangeably, but they can have slightly different meanings depending on the context.

A topic refers to a particular subject of discussion or conversation. It is usually more specific than a subject or theme and can be thought of as a narrower focus within a broader subject area.

A subject refers to a general area of knowledge or study. It is typically broader than a topic and encompasses a range of related topics.

A theme refers to a recurring idea or motif in a work of literature, art, or music. It can also refer to a subject or topic that is explored across multiple works or within a specific cultural context.

A field refers to a broad area of study or professional practice. It encompasses many subjects, topics, and themes and can include multiple disciplines or sub-fields.

In summary, while these terms have some overlap, they generally refer to different levels of specificity and focus within a given area of knowledge or discourse.

There is also , Discipline , Qualification , Science , in my opinion they are closer to Field which is more global , then we have a Theme which could be more specific , until we reach a Subject , then part of a subject could be a Topic .
