¿Letters or instant messaging? My choice.

I think it's fascinating to be able to talk to other people as before.

It's been a long time since I wrote a letter. But I think it's much better than any other kind of instant communication. Because it gives you more time to think about the things you're going to say. And it also gives you the opportunity to correct mistakes. So we avoid saying some nonsense too.

I love reading. I do not have enough English level to read a complex book yet, but I can understand a text with simple vocabulary.

I understand people who speak English too, if they speak slowly. I speak English very slowly: word by word, like a child.

I like writing a lot too. Maybe one day I'll publish a book, it's just a dream hehe.

The English and American cultures have always interested me a lot. I have always thought that people who speak English have a completely different personality than those who speak my language (Spanish). It seems to me that they have an open mind since childhood. Maybe it's because of how do parents teach. Since they are children, they are taught to understand the world around them and to be honest with themselves. And that makes them relate to others as they have learned at home.

We have it a bit more difficult. Here children are almost not taught to interact abroad. Parents prefer their children learn to live in society by themselves, in schools and higschools. Maybe that's why most of the conversation topics of young people are not very interesting here.

I would like to learn more about the English culture. I would like to learn more about how do they think. What do they think about the world, about people, about themselves, about other cultures... I can talk about any topic you ask me.

I have many ideas, thoughts and concerns that I want to talk about.

I would like to practice my reading and writing in English in something other than just class exercises. I would like to learn through real communication.

I propose you to speak to me in English, as you do it with anyone in your environment, about any topic you wish, and I will answer you in my language (with simple vocabulary) and also in English, to make it easier for you to understand me.

I wait for your questions, answers to this post or any idea to talk about. I'm sure it will be very interesting to learn together.

Regards!

You said you like writing, I'm a writer too! Do you know what you want to write about? Do you want to learn to write in English as well?

I pick up what you're laying down, but don't totally agree. Letters are fine and dandy, but it's much further removed from spoken English when compared to instant messaging. In the practical world, you don't have the time to think through all of your sentences. It's like dancing. You can choose to go with the rhythm of the music, or you can choreograph your dance to the music before hand. Obviously, both have their time and place. I'd say that going with the rhythm is more important to me (as a language learner) because it's more useful for my learning goals. I'll leave you with a clip to a funny comedian. Listen to the line "Life ain't a movie" to support my point. In real life, things don't always go according to plan. Having the ability to think/speak/write on the go is very useful, so that's what I try to practice more
