What's the difference between "make" and "do"?

I know there's a shoe in my shoe closet that was "made in Brazil", but I can't understand when we say "made" or "did", for example.

We use the verb 'make' for constructing, building or creating. For Exp : Make a cake , shoes ... - We use the verb 'do' when someone performs an action, activity or task.
