Difference between in/at

What's the difference in meaning when using in or at with educational facilities such as high school, university, etc. For example, when I want to say that I'm currently in my third year of university do I say:  "I'm third year in university." or "I'm third year at university." ? Thanks a bunch :)

i am in university, like you are physically in the university, i am student at this university
means you are student but not necessary you are there now
