    • The said circulars exhorted to not submit to intimidation and to remind that everyone can be opposed to the draft.
    • As a result, Schenck was convicted on the basis on the Espionage Act for having conspired against the United States by attempting to cause insubordination in the military forces and to obstruct it recruitment.
