    • From what I have read and heard, critics are unanimous: in the Godfather trilogy, the last movie is well beneath the first two.
    • Although I agree with this assessment, there is however in the last installment of the saga one of the best pieces of advice I have ever heard in my life.
  • After the failed assassination attempt against him, Michael Corleone warns his nephew against hating one’s enemies, arguing that it clouds one’s judgment.
  • Jean-Marie Le Pen, who recently passed away, was undoubtedly the most controversial figure in contemporary French politics, and many considered him not only a political adversary, but an actual enemy.
  • It seems to me that their hatred for him made them completely unable to rationally discuss any topic he had addressed, especially that of immigration.
  • I myself was once strongly opposed to him; as a student I took part in a demonstration to protest against him holding a meeting in my hometown, but I never hated the man.
  • As a matter of fact, I respected him because he spoke his mind and always stood firm when everybody attacked him for it.
  • Granted, he made some very shocking statements about the Holocaust and about races being unequal, but as the saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
