The Dark Times

• Winter is difficult period for me.

• Each time I think how long and boring it is, how can I manage past through it?

• This year I tried to follow a scandinavian philosophy, I put my hopes to winter swimming, tried to enjoy each moment and any weather we have..

• It is just the first part of December, but it seems I ready to give up.

• The Baltic sea is rough in winter, it’s difficult to find a right time for swimming - strong winds, high waves, rain, low temperature, darkness all ​ these almost constantly and often all together..

• It’s almost impossible to catch even a little appropriate time.

• The last time I swam was in first numbers of December the water was +7 °C and the air was 0°C, it is the air and the wind what was the most uncomfortable, not water at all.

• The light day now is so short, that there are just about two-three hours per day when you can manage without extra lighting.

• Another problem of my region is that since November to March hardly ever the sky is clear, almost all the time there are grey heavy clouds, even a small clearing up of the sky make me happier, but there are too less of such moments.

• I spend more time at work now, but it seems a waste of time.

• Life, and youth especially, is so short, why should we spent it for work and for winter actually too...
