    • For people of England is the accent a very important topic.
    • They learn early how you use an accent and how you distinguish different accents.
    • They are Yorkshire, Midlands, Received Pronunciation and Estuary.
    • Every one stands for something e.g.
    • your region where you from or if you intelligent or “posh”.
    • So your English fellow men can put you in a category and that isn’t nice because maybe you could get treated wrong (like in the short story “a question of accent” where a girl gets harassed because of her Hertfordshire accent which not fits in Yorkshire).
    • So the English put you in a social category, it is possible that they treat you influenced by you accent although they know nothing about your intelligence or job or status.
    • Another problem is the misunderstanding between the different types, sometimes they can´t understand the words because of a divers pronunciation.
    • That’s some examples why the language is so important; because of those accents people have so much problems (primarily social problems).
    • They view of this topic should get changed by the people themselves, nobody deserves to get punished because his intonation may be not right.
    • It’s okay to have different accents and to get known where the person is from and so on the only problem is the personal attitude in relating to other accents (that’s why I comment to be more tolerant and not filled of prejudice).
