The Fury
- The first part of the story “The Fury” by Stan Barstow was written in 1961 and deals with the plans for the day of the family Fletcher.
- Mrs. Fletcher is pretty sure that her husband loves his Angora rabbits more than her.
- As usual Mr. Fletcher prepares his two rabbits for the afternoon's show in Cressley.
- At the dinner Mr. Fletcher is in a hurry.
- He talks to Mrs. Fletcher but she is not interested rather she wants to know if he will reach the movie she wants to watch.
- Her husband advices her to go to the cinema with their neighbour Mrs. Sykes but she isn't into to ask her, instead she assumes his accuracy.
- When the rabbit raiser leaves after dinner, Mrs. Fletcher thinks about his handsomeness.
- Late in the evening Mr. Fletcher finally comes back from his rabbit show.
- Too late for his date.
- His wife is angry and it ends up in a fight.
