  • Movie Technique

    • Today I want to share with you a technique would help to understand American movies and TV (actually any kind of movies).
  • This is a powerful technique if you’ll use it properly.
    • Here goes: First of all pick a movie that you want to watch, and then choose a scene for 2 to 4 minutes long.
  • Use a subtitle to pick up the new words that you don’t understand.
    • Next look them up in your dictionary or an online idiomatic dictionary and after you understand the words, then go back to the scene and watch it again and again and again.
    • Use this process for 3 or 5 days, I don’t know this depends on the difficulty of the movie and your level, do not stop it until you understand the whole of the scene deeply.
  • And after that go to the next scene and do the same thing.
  • It may take from you a day or week or even a month, it doesn’t matter.
  • However, by using this technique with a few movies you’ll be able to understand movies and TV shows easily and without difficulties.
    • PS: You sometimes may understand the whole of the words, but you don’t understand the joke, this is very natural because you need to understand the culture of that country.
    • So don’t’ worry about it, and if you’re curious you can ask your friend to explain it to you.
