What are the chakras and what role they play in our life?
- In Sanskrit, the word ”chakra” means wheel or disk of spinning energy each correspond to certain nerve bundles and major organs in our body.
- To function at their best, chakras need to stay open, or balanced to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being that we use every day.
- In the same way, we use our arms and hands everyday without thinking.
- When some of our chakras get blocked, we may experience physical or emotional symptoms related to a particular chakra.
- Get in touch with our energy centers and channel more creativity, confidence and joy into our life is possible.
- Chakra yoga poses help add mental, spiritual, and physical balance.
- The human body contains seven major chakras, each in a specific location along our spine that start at the base of our body and extend to the crown of our head.
- The seven chakras are: The root chakra, or Muladhara, is located at the base of our spine and it is responsible for our sense of security and stability.
- The sacral chakra, or Svadhisthana, is located just below our belly button.
- This chakra is responsible for our sexual and creative energy.
- Also it’s a chakra linked to our emotions.
- The solar plexus chakra, or Manipura, is located in our stomach area, and It’s responsible for self-esteem, helping us feel in control of our life.
- The heart chakra, or Anahata, is located in the center of our chest.
- The heart chakra is all about our ability to love and show compassion.
- The throat chakra, or Vishuddha, is located in our throat.
- It has to do with our ability to communicate verbally.
- The third eye chakra, or Ajna, is located between our eyes.
- It is responsible for intuition and imagination.
- The crown chakra, or Sahasrara, is located at the top of our head.
- It represents our spiritual connection to ourself, others, and the universe.
