English
”to chase” and ”to attract”
- Good Morning everybody!
- I’ve came to know these two verbs just reading an article about the US election.
- What is the difference?
- I think ”to chase voters” means that the one who wants to be voted is swinging in his behaviour and his opinions.
- He is actively hunting voters.
- In contrary to this meaning ”to attract voters” means that the candidate make the voters following him.
- Like a fisher who lays a delicious bait and waits for the fishes biting.
- After my own try of a definition I have look in the dictionary now.
- Maybe it’s a good way of learning trying to reflect about an expression on my own first, writing a small text and finally having a look in the dictionary.
- I suppose, after receiving the correction of this text, I will have to study the grammar of how to use the gerund correctly ;)
