    • -2The World Health Organization gives instructions and warnings to Oman and foretells the latest developments in the pandemic and how to respond to it and it shares important information about the virus and the pandemic in general.
  • 3- Also, we know that the Covid-19 pandemic constitutes pressure on health systems.
  • The increasing demand for health care workers and health facilities threatens some health systems to be unable to operate effectively.
  • Therefore, the World Health Organization has issued guidelines regarding the provision of basic health services during the Covid-19 pandemic to help countries as a whole and Oman to meet these challenges, to ensure access to basic health services in hospitals while minimizing the risk of collapsing health systems.
  • An example of basic hospital services is routine vaccinations.
  • Care for young children and the elderly and reproductive health services, including care during pregnancy, childbirth, and management of psychological states.
    • 4-The World Health Organization has made recommendations to improve hand hygiene practices on a large scale to help prevent the transmission of the Covid-19 virus, by Giving full access to public facilities for hand cleaning and making its use mandatory for everyone upon entering or leaving any commercial building, whether public or private and practicing hand hygiene in health care facilities.
    • An example of these recommendations: A station or several stations for hand hygiene and washing hands with soap and water should be placed in addition to placing sterilizers at every entrance to a public building (including schools and health care facilities) and every private commercial building, to allow everyone to practice hand hygiene before entering these Buildings and when they leave.
  • Hand hygiene facilities should be provided at all transport stations, especially at bus stations, airports, and seaports.
    • And to make the hand hygiene stations easy to use by children, young people, adults, the elderly, and people with limited mobility .5-The World Health Organization encourages all Member States to continue their surveillance of acute respiratory infections and to review any unusual patterns carefully.
    • The organization recommends comprehensive measures to identify all contacts of patients infected with the Coronavirus, follow them up, and conduct tests for them, if possible, regardless of the appearance of symptoms or not, as approximately 20% of all known cases of infection with the virus are discovered to be asymptomatic.
