- I live in an old city, where lots of cobbled roads, unusing tram tracks, prehistoric streets design and by the way road quality is poor.
- Because of not a very good public transport system, people prefer have a private car, it's characteristically to all the country, maybe except Moscow.
- And the most motorized city in Russia is Vladivostok. Guess why?
- Because of proximity to Japan Vladivostok is the biggest sales market for used Japan cars.
- The same scheme is in my city, cause it's the most western city, we are a sales market for old German cars.
- Honestly, I prefer relible, economical and environmentally friendly Japan cars, but it's already the other story.

  NOTE: Having spent the last two consecutive years driving the roadways of Russia and Ukraina, I know EXACTLY what you're trying to describe. Americans and West Europeans CANNOT EVEN IMAGINE the poor-quality condition of the surfaces of most roadways in the former USSR. Some of those road surfaces can DESTROY your vehicle if you're not very (very!) careful.
