Cities can be a starting point for raising citizens’ awareness for sustainable development: if people have effective sustainable alternatives available, they will start using them being themselves promoters of a lifestyle that can make a difference.

I really believe that this is possible, that’s why I’d like to be one of the growing number of people who have decided to focus their professional life on environmental issues.

In particular, I would like to work in the field of urban planning and be able to carry out projects together with a team of experts for two reasons.

Firstly, to improve the lives of citizens; secondly, I believe that improving the common spaces of a city can enable people to see how sustainable development, which places environmental protection at the centre of attention, can really improve their lives.

The programme offered by the LSE, which is characterised by a wide range of courses, would allow me to go deeper into the field of urban planning.

In addition to the training offered, a number of seminars are being organised in this area, such as the one held on 22 November on the analysis of environmental policies and their costs and benefits.

I believe that it is a stimulating environment, especially for students who are about to approach the world of work, such as those of the Master.
