General Information One of the most appealing animals found in Italy is the Peregrine Hawk.

These attractive creatures belong to the protected species of the Mediterranea's area.

In Italy, this wonderful creature nests in different regions, however, it can be found above all in Campania, Abruzzo, and Tuscany.

They usually lay eggs in rock walls cavities on the mountains, but it is not unusual to see a Peregrine Hawk 's nest in urban areas.

They live on a diet of rodents and average dimension birds such as Pidgeons that they hunt alone, while females look for their chicks until they live to fend for themselves.

In Campania, there are lots of falconry's clubs where instructors show how to fend for this fantastic volatiles.

It is also possible to spot a peregrine hawk in Abruzzo's natural reserves where they can be seen hunting in huge plains. it is enthralling to see how fast they surround the prey with a circular flight and then dive to it without hesitation.

Hawks are not nocturnal creatures so you won't have to wake up early in the morning to see them.
