    • University Motivation

    • I applied for European Studies, because Europe is my home continent, and I originate from two european countries myself, hence I am very interested in Europe's history and future.
    • The european unification process with its advantages and disadvantages fascinates me, as well as the european history, with some countries in whom I am more interested than others, for example France, England, Germany, Greece and the Netherlands.
    • My main interests in the programme are thus the history of Europe and the European Union, and the politics of and regarding the European Union.
    • Moreover, I wanted to study in the Netherlands, because I am half-dutch while I grew up in Germany.
    • Also, there are no similar studies in Germany available, and the Open Day made a good impression on me.
    • First I wanted to study International Relations, but as a combination of politics with history, cultural studies and a little bit of philosophy, European Studies seems more interdisciplinary and thus more interesting to me, while it still offers (more or less) the same opportunities as a International Relations Programme.
