    • How has the concept marriage changed?

    • To my mind, the concept marriage and everything which is connected to it, has enormously changed in my country over the last 30 years.
  • Is it good or bad?
  • Let’s speculate.
  • As far as my wedding is concerned, I would characterize it as totally planned.
    • We spent more than six months preparing for it, attending dancing classes (finally we dropped the idea of it and just imitated the dance from one popular Tarantino’s film), having everyday get-togethers with the wedding staff, the list can last for ever and ever.
    • I think, in USSR an average person just did not concern so much about the wedding itself.
    • Nowadays it is common to live together without getting married.
    • Youngsters want to get to know each other better, but maybe they are just less responsible than in the past.
    • In my parents’ time it was shameful even to kiss in public, so people dated usually for a year and got married.
    • The age of marriages has dramatically changed from 20-24 to 30-35.
    • I believe, this is due to the fact that everybody is obsessed with their career now.
    • We tend to get education, than job, than home and than, maybe a spouse.
    • In the past, it was easier to get a job so private life was first place.
    • Moreover, the government supplied young families with accommodation, so they did not have to drudge for it.
    • In conclusion, I would not name the changes idyllic, statistics prove that fewer marriages happen more divorces occur.
