  • One of the consequences of improved medical care

  • One of the consequences of improved medical care is that people are living longer and life expectancy is increasing.
  • Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?
  • Regarding the question if medical care improvement is positive or not, there are opposite positions.
  • Some people think that living a longer life is better.
  • I am completely against this orientation.
  • Firstly, living longer does not mean a better life.
    • I would prefer living a shorter life, but full of strong emotions and with plenty of satisfactions, instead living hundreds years in a passive way.
  • People are always complaining about how little time they have.
  • But just few of them understand how much it is important.
  • Furthermore, after fifty years old, our body starts to complain.
  • We begin to have the first illnesses and go to the doctor more and more.
  • We are born to live not more than 60 years, but medicine helped us to fight against all these new illnesses and now people can live thirty years more than one century ago.
  • I am not saying that medicine is bad, but i think that people are loosing their paths.
    • It is not just about medicine, it is about technology and what it brought with it.
    • On the other hand, our human nature is to live as much as we can.
    • It is our biggest instinct.
  • We are more animals than human beings and the first thing an animal focuses on is to survive.
  • Now, of course, is much different, but all the progress is about it.
  • We are trying to improve our life and the first thought was about the length.
  • In conclusion, i think that there are more disadvantages in the improvement of medical care than advantages, but that is just a position.
  • Although, i don’t think that is shared by most of the people.
