I wish I had never decided to go on holidays with a work mate.

It all started like this.

I've been working at the same company for four years now and so has been my work mate, Mary.

Her desk used to be right next to mine, so every time I searched on "TripAdvisor" for some vacation destination, we both dreamed about how amazing it would be to travel there; and right after we started to make excuses like how expensive it would be, how much work we had and the fact that neither of us have someone to travel with.

And so it happened.

One raining evening, after work, we went to have some drinks at the usual bar and, after sharing a bottle of Chenin Blanc, we decided that we would be traveling partners.

It seemed like such a good idea!

Well, it wasn't. Why?

Because no matter how well you think you know a person, you don't really know them until you've lived under the same roof for a week.

That's roughly how long it takes to discover that your gentle work mate is really a hypochondriac control freak.

One of the biggest problems was ours difference in expectations.

While I was looking forward to relax on the beach with Pierce Brown latest must-read (Red Rising), her mission was to visit every shopping center possible.

Which is all fine if she wouldn't mind going it alone, but when she try to made me feel guilty for lying on my lounger, it was a different story.

The result of this experience... a rearrangement of desks at our office.

Which reminds me, my sister and her husband have just invited me to join them on a mini-break to Bariloche.

Now, honestly, what could be nicer than a family get-together?
