Thunder Road Bruce Springsteen
- Hi, I am Marzia and I am Italian.
- I like Bruce Springsteen very much.
- This morning I tried to traslate one of his most famous song: "Thunder Road", to understand the meaning.
- But a line in the end of the song catched me: "But when you get to the porch they're gone" Just yesterday I read that the present perfect simple is formed with the auxiliar verb to have and the past participle of the main verb.
- The auxiliar be is not used.
- So, why the line says in that way?
- What is the meaning of "they're gone"?
- What is the difference between "they've gone" and "they're gone"?
- Thanks to everyone who have read my experience and everyone who will answer me.
