  • Hello everyone!
  • Thank you for correcting the following essay :) (it is a bit long but not difficult at all) Nowadays, an increasing number of parents choose to educate their children at home rather than sending them to school.
    • Some think that this is a way of educating one’s children better, some think that sending one’s children to school remains the best way to educate them.
  • In my opinion, even if homeschooling does offer advantages over public education, I still think that it is better for them to be sent to school.
    • Educating one’s children at home does possess a few advantages: parents know their children better than anyone does, so they know how to talk to them in a way that will make them pay attention and understand better.
  • Furthermore, as they will have a very limited number of children to take care of at the same time, parents will be able to look after each of them closely: they will be able to take time explaining a lesson to their child, when a teacher won’t have time to clarify some points to every child that doesn’t understand, and so their child will be likely to understand a lesson better.
  • On the other hand, as children don’t have any classmates, they won’t be distracted and they won’t be able to chat with classmates instead of focusing on their lesson, so they will be forced to concentrate.
  • Finally, I think that when parents educate their children themselves, they become closer to them and strengthen their relationship.
    • However, I hold the opinion that even if homeschooling has got exclusive advantages, it is better to educate one’s children in public schools.
    • The main reason is that this will be their very first experience in “society”: they will get to know what it is to be surrounded by other children, they will have to interact with them, they will have quarrels with classmates, and they will also make some friends, but in the end, this will make them learn how to act in a group of people.
  • Going to public schools will also teach a child how to act towards adults other than their parents: respect and politeness are very important skills in society, and I believe these are learned better when young.
    • Secondly, I think that going to school is very important in order to let a child know what the “outside world” is: it is not good for a child to stay with their parents all the time, they have to broaden their horizons, to discover what life is; they will have to gradually become more independent, they will have to learn how to deal with people and with different situations all by themselves.
  • Eventually, even if parents can pay full attention to their children when educating them at home, the quality of teaching isn’t the same: teachers are people who have studied how to teach a large group of students, they are professionals who know how to deal with all kinds of students.
  • In a nutshell, even if homeschooling is a good way of educating one’s children, I believe that sending them to a public school is still the best way to educate them: children will be able to learn and to develop at the same time.
