- The charts compare the quantity of oil resources to its consumption in different areas of the world.
- The first chart provides the data of owning oil resources by various areas.
- According to the information from the chart the riches resources of oil belong to Middle East and Canada (at 65.2 % and 14.8 % respectively).
- Some areas such as Central and South America, Eastern Europe and Africa have middle percentage of oil resources from 6.38 to 8.12 %.
- The third group of areas including Asia, Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand have the lowest percentage of oil resources which doesn`t exceed 3 % of world reserve.
- The second chart illustrates the consumption of oil resources in these areas which can be divided into 3 groups.
- The first group of areas with high rates of oil consumption includes Asia, United States and Western Europe which consume approximately 20-25 % of world oil resources annually.
- The second group includes Middle East, Eastern Europe, Central and South America and their annual rates of oil consumption is about 6.5 %.
- The percentage of annual oil consumption in the third group which includes Canada, Africa, Australia and New Zealand and other areas is almost 2 times lower than in the second group and doesn`t exceed 3.5 %.
- To sum up, some areas such as Asia, United Stated and Western Europe have the highest percentage of oil consumption despite of their low rates of oil resources.
- Hence, these areas rely on the oil imported from other counties.
- Middle East and Canada with their reserve of oil have a possibility to export resources to other countries.
- The rest areas can supply their oil needs by themselves or import oil in order to keep it for next generations.
