Danish doesn’t have one word for ’please’. Instead, a number of phrases are applied for politeness, e.g.
- Vil du være så venlig at....(FORMAL)/Vil du være sød at...(INFORMAL)/Gider du at...(VERY INFORMAL) : Would you (please) be so kind as to...
- Må jeg bede om... (FORMAL)/Kan jeg få...(INFORMAL) : Could I (please) have...
These can be varied endlessly.

You can also simply use ’tak’ (thanks) for ’please’: Ja tak : Yes, please; Vær stille, tak: Please be quiet

If you’re asked to give or pass something to someone, Danes reply ’Værsgo’ when complying as a kind of ’Please’ or ’Here you are’
