It is not really different. The choice of expression is however rather individual and subjective. The direct translation of the phrase would be: Miluji tě. To most people it is quite a strong expression often reserved for amorous relationships. You can nevertheless say that about your favourite food without making any linguistic mistake. A less exaggerated expression of fondness would be: Mám tě rád. This is ok to say e.g. to good friends without regard to gender or to relatives.
