Description

Hello! 你好! こんにちは! नमस्ते! 안녕하세요! Hola! Bonjour! Guten Tag! Olá! привет! Hallo! أهلا!

LanguageCast Vancouver is a place for language lovers from around the world to practice, teach and socialize. LCV is open to everyone!

Every member receives a nametag in exchange for a receipt after they have purchased an item from the cafe. Each nametag will contain a numbered card behind it. You are encouraged to find the table number that matches your card and to start conversations with people that have the same number.

Halfway through the evening, we invite volunteers to give short presentations to the group. New members are encouraged to give self-introductions in the language they are learning and old members are encouraged to give presentations displaying their continued improvement. Multi-language presentations are highly encouraged!

I met with Jacobzad, the Polyglot Club contact who knew English, Persian, Turkish, and Azerbaijani, and was learning French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Korean, Dutch, Tagalog, Romanian, Italian, and Thai. He has the same problem as I, wanting to learn so many languages. Probably could be, like me, a language identifier. He said: "It is false advertising". I would say it was an unsuccessful attempt to find a meeting place for the Polyglot Club.

The probable Pub where the meeting was going to be held had really loud music and I don't think I was going to be able to hear my voice above the music, still less give the lecture based on my notes in five languages: Avarsky, Russian, Kartuli ena (Georgian), Hebrew, and Maldakan. That is very unfortunate and I have just wasted over $200 on a trip to Vancouver from Victoria (with $129 for the Hotel) that didn't really accomplish anything except a very short meeting on the street (in shabby life-threatening Vancouver East-Town) I haven't given up. Maybe we could still accomplish something in Victoria, B.C. for polyglot Club. I am looking for contacts in Victoria, B.C. Canada for polyglot Club!

I finished basic sentences in all Five Languages I am doing, plus one more, Hindi. I will just see what I can remember. English will be the seventh - and I did have at least one incarnation in English because the Earth did about 180 degree Pole Shift 210,229 (10) = X1,7E1 (12) years ago. This resulted in English Countries doing a reverse shift in how road travel is done. You pass someone coming from the other direction on the left side instead of the right side. I prefer much more to pass on the right side. This includes walking on the side-walk, because I know I was a past life Russian, Kartuli enad = Georgian, Italian, and German. I don't like to just speak English only, like the people in England do. I can't say the word "Goodbye". I have to say it in another Language like Russian, German, or Avarsky.

Yes, I agree. It would be much better to be "Fluent" in all those languages. Any ideas about how the word "Fluent" originated, a Linguistic Question?

I will be there and am paying $300+ for the trip from Victoria and Hotel and meals, so it better be worth going. I have my Russian Text done so I will be more confident reading it. I am working on Avarsky, German, and Hebrew today and already have my Maldakan ready to read, although that may be too long to read the whole thing in my presentation. Avarsky, German, and Hebrew will be short and there are some other Languages I know a few phrases for like Kartuli ena and Hindi and still can remember to read Hindi even 20 years plus after studying it and haven't reviewed it much since so to say a few phrases in Hindi will help revive it.
