Like in English you can use the three basic tenses as a beginner to speak Spanish:

  1. Simple present,
  2. Simple Past,
  3. Future.

With These tenses you can combine and practice at the beginning of your learning. Once you have mastered these structures very well the rest will be history...

PRESENT PERFECT

Subject + Verb + Complement

Ejemplo en español

Mario camina hasta su nuevo trabajo todas las mañanas.

Same example in English

Mario walks to his new job every morning.

PAST PERFECT

Subject + Verb (simple past) + Complement

Ejemplo en español

Sussie cantaba por las noches en un espectáculo de broadway.

Same example in English

Sussie sang at nights in a broadway's show.

FUTURE

Subject + Verb + Complement

Ejemplo en español

Leonardo nadará el siguiente mes en la competencia estatal de su localidad.

Same example in english

Leonardo will swim next month in the local state competition.

Conclusion

When you master these tenses you can have a good conversation, and although it looks very basic, you can combine it with a lot of vocabulary and and other popular phrases, this is the foundation of Spanish conversation.
