Be polite in Polish[edit | edit source]

How to be polite in Poland

If you want to say sorry (when you want to ask about time or to apologise for something), you should say "przepraszam".

For example:

  • "Przepraszam, czy mógłbysś powiedzieć mi, która jest godzina?"

Excuse me, could you tell me what time is?

  • "Przepraszam, nie chciałem (said by a man) / nie chciałam (said by a woman)

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do this (when you make a mistake)
